Jos Buttler is willing to serve as England's limited-overs captain beyond the 2023 World Cup

Following the departure of Eoin Morgan as England's white-ball cricket captain, Jos Buttler led his team to victory in the T20 World Cup for the second time last year. With only two wins out of eight matches in the ongoing 50-over World Cup 2023 campaign, England was knocked out of the major competition.
Even though he didn't play well in the World Cup 2023—the ace wicketkeeper-batsman only scored 111 runs at an average of 13.88 in eight games—Buttler stated he wanted to stay in charge of the England team when playing white-ball cricket.
After the league phase, the best eight teams in the points table will advance to play for the 2025 Champions Trophy. Pakistan, the tournament's host country, will automatically advance to the competition. It is important to note that England will play Pakistan on Saturday, November 11.
