  Chinese Consul General calls on Mohsin Naqvi (CM Punjab) at CM office Lahore

Lahore: Today in the Chief Minister's office, Mr. Zhao Shiren (Chinese consul general) met with Mohsin Naqvi (CM Punjab) to discuss ways to help each other out in the fight against smog. During the discussion, it was primarily decided to obtain technical support from the Beijing Academy of Science and Technology in order to address the risks associated with pollution. It was also decided that a Chinese company would assist in the installation of an air quality monitoring system in Lahore. During the discussion, it was also decided to start direct communication in this respect between Punjabi and Chinese environmental affairs specialists.

 In a conversation with the Chinese Consul General, Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that we are working to get technical support and the newest technology from China to combat smog. We are implementing a long-term plan to eliminate pollution. India's crop stubble burning is the primary cause of the haze in Lahore. For his successful tour to China, CM expressed gratitude to the Chinese Consulate and Consul General for their support.

We will always remember the generosity of the Ningxia Party Secretary and other authorities. According to Mohsin Naqvi, Punjab is also setting up a tourist police force after the Chinese model. We hope to gain from China's expertise in water management, agricultural research, and other areas. During their conversation, Chinese Consul General Zhao Shiren agreed that the Punjab government is making excellent efforts to eradicate smog. The use of zigzag technology in Punjabi brick kilns and measures is really commendable.
